World Learning seeks a Professional Development and Technical Training Program Coordinator for a USAID-funded education management program in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Duration: 4 years. Background: The primary purpose of this program is to support the establishment of three to five Science, Technology, and Mathematics model (high)schools in targeted governorates (STM schools). These schools will serve as centers of excellence, contribute to workforce development, and allow enrollment to a range of gifted students regardless of their gender, social, or economic background. The projects main goals are to: prepare a cohort of students and teachers with specialized skills; raise awareness of specialized science and mathematics education among the public; and contribute to enhanced workforce development.
The Professional Development and Technical Training Program Coordinator will manage the day-to-day implementation of professional development and technical training for STM educators and school administrators working closely with the project’s technical management team. In addition, the Program Coordinator will maintain clear and open communication with the project Chief of Party and technical management team. In addition, the successful candidate will work in close collaboration with other technical program coordinators and the COP to successfully implement the projects objectives and build the capacity of Egyptian counterparts.
Qualifications:
-Masters degree in an education, education management, or STEM/STM related field;
-Minimum seven years of experience implementing international donor funded teacher/education manager professional development projects;
- Experience in at least two of the following: inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, use of instructional modern technologies, and curriculum and assessments;
- STEM or STM education experience strongly desired;
-Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
-Experience working on USAID programs in Egypt and current knowledge of the Egyptian education system
-Knowledge of Arabic desired, but not required
- In-country travel is expected
