The Carter Center seeks a Senior Associate Director that reports to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), PEACE, and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for marketing new and existing peace programs of The Carter Center.
Current programmatic activities are global and include conflict resolution, democratization and human rights. Working with the CDO Peace Programs, the Senior Associate Director manages fund raising for this distinctive portfolio of programs, which are funded primarily by foundations, corporations, governments (foreign and U.S.) and multilateral organizations, as well as individuals.
The Senior Associate Director ensures the submission of timely and compelling proposals and reports, working with staff across the Center. The Senior Associate Director interacts with donors, making and responding to inquiries. Some domestic and international travel required. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree and at least six years of fundraising experience, including a minimum of two years raising funds for an institution seeking resources for international work. Background must include a focus in grant writing and donor management. Program design/development experience is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required, and Raiser’s Edge is desirable.
