We are recruiting for a volunteer position on behalf of a nonprofit organization based in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

INFO ABOUT THE NONPROFIT
The organization was founded in 2008 and its mission is to produce biodiesel and natural soaps in the most environmentally friendly way possible. They are now launching a new initiative aiming to developing plastic re-purposing initiatives in Siem Reap. Precious Plastics is an open source system specification for small scale plastics recycling. The plastics are separated, shredded and then molded or extracted.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We have an ongoing position in this project for a volunteer engineer who will work under the guidance of the nonprofit engineering team.

Your role will include:

Building and / or managing construction of machinery to spec, including working with local suppliers and welders

Providing training to unskilled users on all aspects of the plastics recycling process, including plastics sorting and safe machinery operation

Providing maintenance and troubleshooting for existing machinery

Assisting with mold and extrusion design

REQUIREMENTS
You will have an engineering background (or equivalent experience) Available to volunteer full time for a minimum of 8 weeks.
