Together with the affected communities we work on the RECOVERY until they can provide to take care of their livelihoods. The work of ZOA is coordinated from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. From Apeldoorn ZOA operates in fifteen countries in Africa, Middle East Region and Asia. ZOA works approximately with 1000 employees worldwide.

ZOA is looking for a
Programme Advisor Iraq (f/m)

In 2014, about one million people were displaced because of IS. Therefore, ZOA decided to provide emergency relief, and help people to get a new start and earn an income. The main focus of the programme is to provide emergency relief, improving living conditions (WASH, Livelihood, Shelter) and support food security by improving their agricultural production as well as cash assistance.

ZOA works alongside local partners. Creating and strengthening of local capacity is an important element of the programme.

In 2015, ZOA opened a Middle East Regional office which is located in Jordan. From this office, our programmes in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Jordan have been administered. As of June 2017 Iraq will break away from the Middle East Regional office and be an established programme country for ZOA.

Your challenge
The Program Advisorís (PGA) responsibility is to guarantee a high quality programme design by ensuring line management with expertise and knowledge. The PGA will provide major input in programme formulation and monitoring as well as the development of project proposals for potential donors.

Your main tasks and responsibilities
Advise and support the development of Programme Plans;
Manage the project design and proposal writing;
Manage the monitoring of project implementation and ensure the quality;
Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements;
Manage project evaluations;
Development, support and monitoring the implementation of strategies and corresponding systems for beneficiary accountability;
Innovation in programme design and execution;
Contributes to partner capacity enhancement in programme related areas;
Ensuring gender and conflict sensitive project design and implementation;
Develop knowledge management at country level and contribute to organisation wide knowledge management.

Your profile

Being a Christian adhering to the Christian identity of ZOA;
The candidate is expected to fully support the vision and mission of ZOA.

University degree in a humanitarian, development or other relevant field;
At least three years field experience in a development country;
Excellent level of written (and spoken) English;
Project Cycle Management;
Research skills.

Strong formulation and writing skills;
Customer-friendly attitude;
Result-oriented approach;
Interpersonal sensitivity;
Able to work in a sometimes fluid and insecure environment.

Special conditions

Frequent field visits/work and travels are required
This is a duty station for families without children
